How about some free advice?

As you know, AAF is an organisation which provides bespoke Social Work, Family Support and Counselling services to families and other organisations within local communities.  Our full mission statement and the code of ethics that we live up to can be found on our website www.allaboutfamilies.co.uk.

In partnership with Lawrence Lupin Solicitors  logo-2   and with the support of South Kilburn Trust SKT-Roundel1-Green-w500 , AAF will be hosting and facilitating a ‘Free Advice Community Day’ on Sunday 20th September 2015.

We’re hosting this event for the following reasons:

  • The employment and unemployment of persons aged 16 and over between 2005 and 2015 have  decreased and increased, respectively. I.e. In 2005 the employment percentage was 60%, while unemployment was 4.6%; however in 2015 there is a decrease in employed persons standing at 59.6% and an increase in unemployment of 5.5%.
  • In 2011/12 only about two-thirds (65%) of people in the UK thought people in their neighbourhood could be trusted and in the same year around 1 in 10 people (11%) reported feeling lonely all, most, or more than half of the time.
  • In 2014 there were reported to be 7,916,000 families with children in the UK compared to 7,444,000 10 years before (2004).  That’s an increase of approximately 47,200 people each year over a 10 year period.
  • Immigration in the UK has gone up by 84,000 by March 2015 and Emigration has down by 9,000. indicating that there the population in the UK is set to grow even further.

Considering the increase of the UK population, AAF has considered the fact that migrants make up a part of this number and that the numbers are likely to be conservative considering the amount of illegal immigrants that are found and which remain unfound.  Notwithstanding that the figures indicate the changes and mood in society, which places a responsibility on us as a community of businesses and organisations to address and meet the needs of those we serve.

In light of this, AAF believes that it is imperative to plug the hole where individuals are not having access to services they need in a robust manner and in a way that is easily accessible and affordable to them.  The ‘Free Advice Community Day’ is being established, with a view to run at least every quarter, for members of our communities to have free access to services, such as legal advice and support services; while promoting and supporting other local businesses and organisations to gain exposure and grow.

So if you or anyone you know needs advice, then you should not miss this event!!!  See our flyer for more details of what’s on offer.
